MnDOT Begins Tree Clearing for Mankato Ave Reconstruction

WINONA, Minn. (KWNO)-The first part of the Mankato Ave. Reconstruction Project is underway.  

MnDOT says crews will be clearing trees along the soon-to-be construction zone until March 31. The clearing is happening before the construction season to avoid disturbing endangered bats, according to a MnDOT press release.  

MnDOT says temporary lane closures with flaggers directing traffic may be possible. Later this year, crews will install four roundabouts on Mankato Ave. between Sarnia St. and Hwy. 61.
