WINONA, Minn. (KWNO)-A new TikToc challenge has prompted a safety alert from the Winona Police Department.
Officers say the challenge is to threaten gun violence in schools on Friday, Dec. 17. Police say no specific threats have been made against Winona Area Public Schools.
Police say anyone who participates in the challenge could face expulsion and felony charges.
The PD says officers will not take any threats lightly. Police advise residents to talk with their children to let them know about the consequences of participating in the challenge.
Police also are reminding residents to report any kind of threats to law enforcement immediately.
