State Sees Record Sales at Municipal Liquor Stores

By TJ Nov 1, 2021 | 4:39 PM

(Learfield)-Closed bars and restaurants last year meant Minnesotans bought a bottle and took it home.

That led to a record-breaking year for the state’s 213 municipal liquor stores in 2020.  Blaha’s office reports sales were up 10% during the first year of the coronavirus pandemic.  The typical sales increase at those facilities is between one and three percent.

State officials say the lifestyle shifts created by the pandemic played a major role in the sales increase.
