WABASHA, Minn. (KWNO)-Crews have switched traffic lanes at the Mississippi River crossing in Wabasha as work continues to rehabilitate the bridge.
MnDOT says the switch happened on Monday. The switch allows workers to finish replacing expansion joints and paint the west side of the bridge.
Traffic headed across the river has been down to a single lane and controlled by a temporary traffic signal since May 17. MnDOT says the bridge rehabilitation work is scheduled to finish in Nov.
The project’s purpose is to extend the life of Wabasha’s river crossing. The project’s cost is over $3.7 million.
