WINONA, Minn. (KWNO)-Winona Health is preparing to administer more vaccinations as the flu season approaches.
“Once again I’m really happy to share at Winona Health we’re going to be providing free flu vaccine,” President/CEO Rachelle Schultz on KWNO’s In the Know Monday. “We’re going to be starting on Oct. 4.”
It’s the second year in a row that Winona Health has offered free flu shots. Shultz says the free vaccines last year led to “several thousand” more people getting their vaccine than typically seen during the flu season.
Schultz says Winona Health plans for the flu shots to coincide with COVID-19 vaccinations.
“You can get a COVID vaccine and a flu vaccine at the same time it’s safe to do that,” Schultz said.
She says they plan to merge the flu and COVID-19 vaccine clinics together. Winona Health conducts its vaccine clinics at the Parkview Office Building on Mankato Ave. campus.
