WINONA, Minn. (KWNO)-The Winona Area Public Schools Board will vote on its masking on Thursday
The preliminary policy, presented to the board on Aug. 5 would require masking indoors for everyone over the age of two regardless of vaccination status when the COVID-19 spread in Winona County is considered substantial or high. Masks would be recommended if the spread is low or moderate.
“I support staying consistent with what the local authorities are doing and paying attention to the CDC,” Board Chair Nancy Denzer told KWNO.
She said the proposal was well-received by her fellow board members.
“We really felt like this was a good guide to help us not just be reactive but to be proactive in our approach,” said Denzer.
Winona County is experiencing a high rate of COVID-19 transmission. The meeting begins at 6 p.m.
