(KWMN)- The Rushford-Peterson Trojans (5-2) look to avenge last weeks’ loss tonight in a matchup with Kenyon-Wanamingo (0-7).
The Trojans suffered a heartbreaking loss in their season one week ago, falling 7-21 to the Dover-Eyota Eagles. Rushford-Peterson stumbled early, going down 0-7 in the first quarter, but would come to tie the game late in the second. They were unable to hold off the eagles however, who marched down the field with just 2 minutes remaining and scored int he final 40 seconds to retake the lead, a lead they would never relinquish. The Eagles successfully stimmed the run game over the Trojans, holding them to just 160 yards on 34 carries. Owen Lange did find the endzone on the ground, punching it in from 7-yards out, but did not get much of anything else.
Kenyon-Wanamingo remained winless after last week’s game against St. Charles, falling 20-16. The Knights have one final chance to salvage a win from their 2026 season as they host the Trojans tonight at 7.
