Winona PD hosting training for bartenders, servers

(KWNO)-The Winona Police Department is hosting two upcoming trainings for those who want to stay compliant with Winona’s Best Practices Program. The training will benefit bartenders, wait staff, bouncers and owners/managers of bars and restaurants, according to the WPD Facebook Page.

Attendees will learn how to recognize and manage impaired customers, recognize valid IDs and understand their legal responsibilities when serving alcohol. Additional topics include the societal effect of alcohol and THC and the danger and consequences of impaired driving and serving minors.

The training is free, but participants must pre-register by emailing Sgt. Anthony Wurst. The trainings are Monday, September 28 at 6:00pm at Bevee Social and Thursday, October 8 at 6:00pm at Sobieski Lodge.
