(KWNO)-One person is dead after a plane crash at Winona Airport. According to the Winona Fire Department, the plane crashed around 8:00 pm and lifesaving efforts at the scene were unsuccessful. A press release from the Winona Police Department identifies the victim as 74-year-old Wayne William Ledebuhr of Winona. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses told investigators Ledebuhr was piloting the plane. The crash is under investigation by Winona PD, the FAA and NTSB.
