Chiefs Look to Rebound Against Spartans in Rushford

The Winona Chiefs (2-4) travel to Rushford (3-5) for their third road contest of the season, taking on the Rush Creek Spartans.

Winona’s last road game was against the Dodge County Diamondbacks. The Chiefs lead through five 3-0. Lee Trocinski pitched a no-hitter through this span. The Diamondbacks proceeded to score ten runs through their final three innings. The Chiefs dropping to 0-2 in road trips so far this season.
Tucker Merchlewitz is tied for the most strikeouts for the Chiefs (12) with Trocinski. He started the game against the Wanamingo Jacks on Friday, which was postponed after four due to weather.

The Chiefs took on the Coon Valley-Chaseburg Blues last night at Veteran’s Memorial Park. They dropped that contest 8-4 in the exhibition.

Winona looks to regain their footing in Twin River’s league play, with two games back of .500. They also seek their first road victory of the season against the Spartans.
