GAME PREVIEW: Cotter Baseball vs. La Crescent-Hokah

(KWMN)- The Cotter Ramblers (10-2) look to keep the win streak rolling, facing the La Crescent-Hokah Lancers (7-3) tonight in a doubleheader.

Tonight’s matchups are a shot at the number one spot in the Three Rivers East. Cotter currently sits at the top at 5-0 in the conference, while La Crescent-Hokah is behind them at 4-0.

The Ramblers have won four of their last five. including an 8-7 walk off against Caledonia. Cotter is fresh off a win against Dover-Eyota on the road yesterday, defeating the Eagles 6-4. The start of the order for the Ramblers got things done, with Rawson Sullivan in the leadoff spot went 2-for-3, with a double and two RBI. Will Peterson also went 2-for-3 with a run scored, and Donny Baures had an RBI with a run scored as well. Jameson Lynch from the middle of the order also had a huge day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with an RBI.

Avery Tillman picked up the win, going 3 innings allowing just one run and three strikeouts. He was replaced in the 4th by Vince Frisch, who closed out the game with four strikeouts and three runs allowed.

La Crescent-Hokah is coming off of two back-to-back losses for the first time this season, falling 2-4 to Simley last Saturday, April 25th, and 2-6 on the road at Plainview-Elgin-Millville. The Simley loss snapped a six-game win streak, during which the Lancers outscored their opponents 53-16.
