(KWNO)-Winona County Emergency Management Director and Goodview Mayor Ben Klinger recently announced his candidacy for Winona County Sheriff. Klinger’s has served several roles with the Winona County Sheriff’s Office, including his current role as emergency management director which is under the auspices of the WCSO. Klinger has also worked as a part-time police officer with the Lewiston and Goodview Police Departments since 2003 and is in his second term as Goodview Mayor.
In a Facebook post, Klinger said he’s running because “the Sheriff’s Office should be led with experience, professionalism, and respect for the individuals who work there and the community we serve.” Ron Ganrude is not seeking another term as Winona County Sheriff.
