(KWNO)-Winona Public Library on Saturday, January 31 will screen a new documentary highlighting the growth of youth hockey in Winona. One Winona: The Making of a Hockey Town is produced by the Minnesota Wild and “provides an intimate portrait of what it takes to become a hockey town.” Several local hockey coaches, players and parents are featured in the documentary. Winona is one of eleven cities participating in a pilot program called Skate it Forward that aims to remove financial barriers for first-time hockey players. The screening at Winona Library will be at 1:00 p.m.
