(KWNO)-A driver lost control of his vehicle and drove into the Mississippi River in Nelson Township Friday afternoon. According to the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office, 24-year-old Amanuel Bauer was northbound on State Highway 25 when he hit snow and slush, lost control and drove into the river.

Bauer got out of the vehicle through a broken back window before it became completely submerged. He refused medical transportation.
