(MNN)-Members of the Golden Gopher football team took part in their annual Turkey Drive last night on campus, handing out turkeys and other food items to those in need. In all, 600 turkeys were distributed to families mostly associated with HopeKids Minnesota. HopeKids is designed to help offer assistance and support to families who have children facing significant health issues, including cancer or other life-threatening conditions. Players worked in a light rain for several hours last night giving the food items to families who were given the food in a makeshift “drive-through” area near the team’s practice facility.
