(KWMN)-

Cotter Schools proudly celebrated seven student-athletes who signed their Letters of Intent on Wednesday, November 12. Surrounded by their families, coaches, teammates, and classmates, these seniors gathered as a Cotter community to mark a milestone achievement, the opportunity to continue their athletic and academic journeys at the collegiate level. The event reflected not only the athletes’ dedication and perseverance but also the support and encouragement of the entire Cotter community that helped them reach this point.

Brayden Novakoski: University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, Track & Field

Cotter senior Brayden Novakoski has signed to continue his track and field career at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, where he will pursue a degree in Biology and compete for the Eagles.

High school track and field coach Tom Reigstad praised Brayden’s leadership and drive, saying, “Brayden values setting goals and bringing people along for the journey. His athletic ability speaks for itself, but his ‘why’ goes beyond personal achievement. He has made a lasting impact on our program’s culture; always kind, encouraging, and accountable. Through his example, our team has grown stronger. UW–La Crosse will be blessed to have him, just as we have been.”

Brayden expressed his gratitude, saying, “I want to give a big shoutout to my parents and coaches who have pushed me to be the best version of myself.”

Macy Donnenwerth: University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh, Soccer

Cotter senior Macy Donnenwerth has signed her Letter of Intent to continue her soccer career at the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh, where she will compete while pursuing her academic goals, majoring in nursing.

Throughout her high school career, Macy stood out as one of Cotter’s most determined and skilled players. Her leadership, talent, and relentless work ethic earned her All-State honors and the respect of her teammates and coaches.

High school soccer coach Diego dos Santos shared, “Macy’s natural talent and athletic ability always set her apart, but it was her extra work; training harder, staying longer during both club and high school soccer seasons that truly made the transition from a great to an elite player. Her senior year reflected not just her skills but her relentless commitment and focus on getting better every day. That dedication earned her all-state honors and the incredible opportunity to continue her athletic journey at UW–Oshkosh. Macy’s story shows that true achievement comes not just from talent, but from effort and dedication.”

Cotter senior Raegen Hoheisel has signed to continue her academic and athletic career at Valley City State University in Valley City, North Dakota, where she will major in Exercise Science and play softball for the Vikings.

Cotter head softball coach Pat Bowlin added, “Raegen’s college coaches will quickly fall in love with the coachability she demonstrates every day. Her competitive spirit and team-first approach will endear her to teammates. Raegen is a fundamentally sound player with excellent command of the strike zone and the versatility to play multiple positions. She has worked tirelessly to become a college-level athlete and will fully embrace this opportunity. For Raegen, the best is yet to come!”

Coach Pat Bowlin said, “Emilia is a feared hitter with the potential to become a real force in the MIAC. She’s joining a program that not only develops great players and teams but also helps young women grow into strong leaders. “Camrie has been a cornerstone of our program,” said Head Coach Laurie Broghammer. “Her offensive production was exceptional, but her growth as a defender and leader truly sets her apart. She leaves behind a high standard for future players, and I am beyond excited to see her compete at the next level.”

Camrie shared, “I would like to thank Coach Brandt and Coach Olson from NIACC, and my parents, for all their support throughout my high school career. They’ve always reminded me to be where my feet are.”
