(KWNO)-The Winona Family YMCA has been awarded the Praesidium Accreditation, recognizing its commitment to serving children, youth and vulnerable adults. The Y had to complete a rigorous examination focusing on eight operational areas including training, monitoring and supervision, consumer participation and internal feedback systems that aim to prevent abuse. In a statement CEO Janneke Sobeck said the accreditation, which will last for three years, ensures the YMCA “remains a place where everyone feels, safe, supported and valued.”
