(KWNO)-The head coach of the Winona State University women’s tennis team was arrested for allegedly possessing child sexual abuse materials. According to the Winona County Sheriff’s Office, a cyber tip on Thursday led investigators to Tom Sanvik, who has coached the WSU tennis team for five years. A search of Sanvik’s residence found electronic equipment containing child sex material; the extent and nature of the content is still being determined. A WCSO spokesperson said Sanvik “admitted to viewing and accessing child sexually explicit materials.” Sanvik is in the Winona County Jail and Thursday was placed on leave by Winona State.
