(KWNO)-Two people were hospitalized with serious injuries after a crash in Buffalo County Sunday morning. According to the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to an I-Phone crash detection notification near County Road X and County Road CC in Montana. The driver of the vehicle, 28-year-old Cole Bignell, had been ejected through the windshield. His passenger, 19-year-old Autumn Caneff of Alma, was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by emergency responders. Caneff told investigators Bignell fell asleep while driving and crashed. A press release from the BCSO states “alcohol, speed, and no seatbelts are a factor in the crash.” Montana is about 27 miles northeast of Winona.
