(KWNO)-A special honor is upcoming for two Goodview firefighters. Chief Jason Gruett and firefighter Roland Limpert will be inducted into the Minnesota Fallen Firefighters Memorial on Sunday September 28. Gruett served with the Goodview Fire Department for 19 years in various capacities and was named chief in 2017. He passed away in March.

Limpert was a charter member of GFD. In 1965, he suffered a fatal heart attack while fighting a fire at the Westgate Shopping Center in Winona. In a press release, Goodview mayor Ben Klinger said Gruett and Limpert “represent the very best of Goodview’s spirit of service.” The public is invited to attend the ceremony at the State Capitol grounds in Saint Paul.
