(MNN)-The City of Winona is getting $550,000 in grant money for a public skatepark. A total of eight public skatepark projects across Minnesota are getting a total of four-million dollars in state grants.
“We’re pretty proud that these grants are significant numbers that really get these communities almost skatepark, or give them a substantial amount towards the parks,” said Paul Forsline of City of Skate. He added they’ve been pushing the legislature many years for this funding.
Brainerd, Rochester and Northfield are also receiving grants. Forsline says legislators approved the funding in 2023 and it was appropriated this session.
