(MNN)-A bill passed Thursday in Minnesota House increases penalties for drunken driving convictions. It was in response to a DWI crash last year at the Park Tavern in St. Louis Park that killed two people and injured nine on the patio. Representative Larry Craft of St. Louis Park told members about drinking and driving, “I do ask if anyone is listening to this. Please think twice about this. It caused such a devastating hole in my community. ” The bill lengthens the license revocation period, adds an ignition interlock system to the offender’s car, and they would be required to undergo a treatment and rehabilitation program.
