(KWMN)- After a 21-10 regular season, and a trip to the NSIC semifinals, the Winona State Men’s basketball team earned a bid into the D-II NCAA Tournament.
It’s the first tournament berth for the Warriors under Todd Eisner, and first since the 2013-14 season when they lost in the opening round. They got the three-seed in the Central Region, only behind host Washburn as the one-seed, and NSIC foe, Moorhead, who got the two-seed.
The Warriors will face a very familiar opponent in Southwest Minnesota State, who was named the six-seed. The Warriors are 2-1 over the Mustangs this season, including a win in the NSIC tournament.
They’ll tip off their NCAA tournament campaign this Saturday from Topeka, Kan. at Noon.
Head Coach for the Warriors, Todd Eisner, joined the WSN on Upon Further Review to discuss the Warriors season, and what’s ahead in the NCAA Tournament. Be sure to tune in every weekday to Upon Further Review, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the Winona Sports Network.
