(KWMN)- The Winona State Men are fresh off of a 2-0 week where they beat Augustana and then upset #17 Southwest Minnesota State.
Their 2-0 stretch brings their record to 17-7, and 12-6 in conference play, which has them in position of a potential first round bye in the upcoming NSIC tournament. The Warriors have also won four of five games since their 0-2 weekend at McCown.
Although a stellar season already, it will all come down to the final four games of the season to decide the seeding in the Conference tournament.
The Warriors currently are tied for second place, with a whopping three other teams at 12-6. They sit a mere one game back from first place, but three other teams are tied for that spot at 13-5.
The top four teams in the conference receive the first-round bye, and the next four teams will host an opening round game. The Warriors could finish the season as high as first, and as low as tenth, further proving just how competitive the NSIC is.
They’ll have huge matchups to close out their season, facing three teams in the top eight in their final four games. First up is the U of Mary, and Minot State, who are tied with the Warriors in the conference. Earlier this season the Warriors lost to Minot State in triple OT.
Head Coach, Todd Eisner, joined the program to discuss the competitive conference, and how to find success this coming weekend.
