(KWMN)- The Winona State Men’s basketball team split their contests last weekend, beating Minnesota-Duluth on Wednesday night from McCown and falling short against Minnesota State-Mankato on Saturday.
The 1-1 week brings their record to 15-7 overall, and 10-6 in the NSIC. They sit in 5th place in the conference, with the top four spots getting a first-round bye in the conference tournament. The next four spots will host an opening round game.
The conference is tight this year, as it typically is. The Warriors are only two games back from second place, three from first place. Yet they only hold a two-game lead on the 10th place team.
They’ll have two pivotal matchups this week that starts with Augustana later tonight from McCown. On Saturday they’ll face first place Southwest Minnesota State.
Head Coach, Todd Eisner, joined the WSN to discuss last week, as well as the postseason push that’s ahead.
