Rushford-Peterson Girls Fall to Grand Meadow, Action on the Hardwood Returns to the WSN Tonight

By Jake Litman Jan 24, 2025 | 10:08 AM

(KWMN)- After a hot start from Rushford-Peterson, the Grand Meadow defense proved to be too hard to handle, and the Trojan offense flailed late, leading to a 52-46 loss.

The Trojan girls started the game on an 11-3, it was their best stretch of offense on the night. Slowly, the Grand Meadow 2-3 zone started to close the gaps, as buckets became harder and harder to find for RP.

By halftime it was tied at 22-22. To open the second half, Gracie Foster of Grand Meadow scored 15 straight points, as the Super Larks went on a 17-10 run to break open a lead. The Trojans were unable to find their way back, eventually losing, and falling to 9-6 on the season.

It was a good fight against one of the best defenses in the section. Grand Meadow gives up a mere 44 points per game to opponents. Albeit a tough loss, Rushford knew they competed and can expect to see Grand Meadow again come playoff time.

High School action will return to the WSN tonight as the Cotter Girls will hit the road to take on Caledonia, looking for revenge after losing to the Warriors earlier this season.
