(KWNO)-A train narrowly avoided colliding with a car that was stuck on the tracks in the Village of Nelson, Wisconsin. According to the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office, deputies on Friday night responded to reports of a vehicle stalled on the train tracks on Highway 25. Deputies found the vehicle unoccupied on the tracks and the driver, 47-year-old Samuel Raymond Horace III nearby.
Horace, of Wabasha, MN, told deputies he thought the tracks were a road and also admitted to drinking prior to getting behind the wheel. A southbound train avoided hitting Horace’s car by “one or two feet,” according to the BCSO. Horace was arrested for OWI and driving without a valid license. There were no injuries to the train crew or damage to the train.
