Winona’s most magical holiday tradition is just around the corner! The Winona County Historical Society’s (WCHS) Holiday House Tour returns on Sunday, December 8th, from 3:00 to 8:00 PM, inviting you to explore the history and charm of six stunning, historic homes and St. Martin’s Church, all beautifully decorated for the holiday season.
This beloved event has been a cornerstone of the Winona community for over 35 years, offering a unique opportunity to step inside privately-owned architectural gems and experience the holiday spirit like never before.
Stop at the Winona County History Center where you’ll pick up your tickets and map. While there, enjoy exhibits, the holiday-themed Vintage Christmas Window Walk, and a 15% discount at the Museum Shop!

- The Gerts Home (678 Main St.)This Victorian-European farmhouse, built in 1895, features a collection of thrifted treasures and enough Christmas trees to dazzle even the biggest holiday enthusiast.
- Ortega’s Cape Cod (152 Mill St.)Explore a pre-WWII Cape Cod-style home filled with stunning renovations and a large, cherished Christmas collection.
- Hygge House (669 Johnson St.)This 1921 bungalow exudes Scandinavian coziness, styled to reflect the happiness philosophy of hygge.
- The Smith House (1227 W. Howard St.)Built by the current owner’s grandparents in 1927, this Dutch Colonial is steeped in family history and festive charm.
- St. Martin’s Church (328 E. Broadway St.)This Gothic-style church, constructed in 1886, boasts exquisite stained glass windows made with antique, hand-blown glass from Europe.
