Growing up I was a big sports girly, I had played soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball, and golf throughout my life and I loved playing. I also loved the Friday Night Lights and watching football because the vibes were great and you got to sing little cheers in unison, (which is practically live improv theatre).
But when it came to watching sports on TV with my brother and dad, I had no interest (unless it was the Vikings). I always thought why are they watching all these football games for teams they don’t even root for. It didn’t take until I got to college and met my lovely best friend that I finally understood the hype.
Sunday rolls around, after a long week, and a crazy weekend and what is there to do with your day. Well, I think the perfect answer may be watching football all day. From watching football, you now have an excuse for three full hours to not be available to do anything else because you’re busy watching the game. Usually after one three-hour game there’s another. You can lounge around for so long without ever having to answer to anyone because you’re watching the game! The best part, they play all these silly games at bar and grills so then you also have an easy excuse to Sunday brunch and Sunday beers with the girls. I finally understand why boys have pretended to be so into football for so long. Where are we meeting this week?
