Frank Harry Krzoska, died on October 24, 2024. He was born on September 21, 1937, in Winona, Minnesota to Harry and Sally (Czaplewski) Krzoska. Frank graduated from Fountain City High School in 1955, enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged on September 29, 1960, after serving as a U.S. Nike Radar Operator in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
After service, he was employed as a carpenter for Haeuser Brothers, Inc., H&F Roettiger, Inc., and Hilltop Construction until retirement in 1999. Frank married Marlene Schmitt on November 3, 1962, and they were married for 61 years. He was a lifelong resident of Fountain City where he built their present home on Fountain Street in 1972. Frank was a member of the Fountain City Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fountain City where he sang in the church choir and soloed for many weddings and funerals. He enjoyed karaoke at his favorite establishments in Fountain City, and even received a standing ovation from the other cruise ship passengers when he sang “My Way” during the family’s trip to celebrate his and Marlene’s 50th anniversary.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene; his sons and daughters-in-law: Dan & Darla Krzoska and Jim & Summer Krzoska; his grandsons: Connor Krzoska, Wyatt Krzoska, Gavyn Krzoska and Layne Krzoska; his twin sister, Frannie Krzoska; his nephew, Tony Krzoska; many other nieces and nephews, and close family friend, Judy Wolfe. He was preceded in death by his parents, his elder siblings, Florence Thompson, Mary Ann Olson, and Julian Krzoska; his brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Dale Schmitt, Larry Schmitt, and Dennis and Judy Schmitt.
Memorials may be given to the St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fountain City or the Fountain City Volunteer Fire Department.
Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fountain City. Interment with military honors will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fountain City.
Visitation will be 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fountain City and beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
