What a fantastic Saturday we had at this year’s Kids and Parents Expo! The Winona High School was packed with energy as families joined in on the Halloween fun – costumes, crafts, and excitement were everywhere. Presented by the Family & Children’s Center, this annual community event brought smiles to every face, young and old, and filled the room with Halloween cheer.
The best part? Seeing everyone in their costumes! From superheroes to mini monsters (the friendly kind, of course), the creativity was off the charts. Some crowd favorite costumes were: The Sanderson Sister from Hocus Pocus, Little Red Ridding Hood along side her grandma and the big bad wolf, and a refrigerator! We loved watching kids bounce around the inflatable play area and create spooky “make and take” crafts to show off at home. The folks from Fantastic Sam’s were on hand, transforming hair into wild, wacky creations – just right for Halloween! Our local artists made everything from pumpkins to puppies, and everyone got to take home a fun, one-of-a-kind creation.
Parents and kiddos enjoyed trick-or-treating throughout the venue, filling their bags with goodies. Plus, the spooky experiment station was a huge hit! Kids got a hands-on look at some spooky science while making slime.
We can’t thank everyone enough for joining us and helping make this event a safe, family-friendly celebration for the Winona community. It’s a local tradition that’s affordable and packed with activities to keep the whole family entertained.
If you missed it this year, mark your calendar for next October! And until then, keep those costumes ready for more spooky fun.
