(KWMN)-After a dominating homecoming victory over the University of Mary, Winona State Football has clawed their back to .500 on the season with a 3-3 record.
In the 48-7 beat down last Saturday, Sophomore QB Jackson Flottmeyer scored five total touchdowns. Three through the air and two more on the ground.
Since Flottmeyer has replaced Cole Stenstrom under center on October 5th. He’s thrown for 334 yards and rushed for 159 more. He’s added six total touchdowns in the process, and the Warrior offense has scored 81 points in just two games.
The competition may have lessened with Moorehead and Mary, but the NSIC is tough from top to bottom. Moorehead upset Augustana earlier in the season, and the Warriors blew Moorhead out, so albeit different in the standings, every NSIC team is capable.
The turnaround has helped the Warriors get back on track this season, but with already three losses, playoffs will still be difficult to qualify for.
The Warriors face Augustana University–a team that’s received votes in the top 25 coaches’ poll–tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 p.m. from Sioux Falls, SD.
Head Coach, Brian Bergstrom, joined Upon Further Review to discuss back-to-back wins, and how they keep it going against his former team Augustana.
