(KWNO)-A Winona woman allegedly lied to police about being assaulted and threatened with a gun by her boyfriend. According to a Winona Police spokesperson, 27-year-old Kayla Tolbert told officers she and her boyfriend were waiting for a bus in Rochester on Wednesday when he punched her in the face, pointed a gun at her neck and threatened to kill her. When the bus arrived in Winona, Tolbert called the police who made contact with the couple on 6th Street. Winona officers called Rochester police and asked them to review surveillance video. The video showed nothing to indicate the man assaulted Tolbert. Tolbert was arrested for false reporting. She also had an outstanding felony warrant out of Missouri. The spokesperson said Tolbert did not give any explanation for making the false allegations.
