A homecoming battle in Rushford and a Friday night tilt in the state capital, here’s what happened for the Rushford-Peterson Trojans in their battle against rivals Filmore Central and the Winhawks clash against St. Croix Lutheran
Rushford-Peterson looked to cap off the homecoming week celebration with a win over the Fillmore Central Falcons. It wasn’t meant to be as Fillmore Centrals, Bridon Bahl would throw two 40+ yard touchdowns, the last being a 85-yard strike in the 4th quarter, securing the Falcons 28-12 victory. Rushford-Peterson falls to a 1-3 record.
Winona made the trip to St. Paul as they had a clash with the St. Croix Lutheran Crusaders Friday night.  It wouldn’t be a walk in the park for the Winhawks as the Crusaders cruised to a 36-23 victory. The Winhawks record falls to 1-3 on the season.
High School football returns to the Winona Sports Network next Friday night as Winona takes on Kasson-Mantorville
