Winona State Football Looks to Gain Momentum After First Win of Season, Head Coach, Brian Bergstrom Joins the Winona Sports Network

(KWMN)-The Winona State Warrior Football team improved to 1-1 last Saturday night with a 31-14 win over Concordia-St. Paul.

The Warrior offense used four rushing touchdowns to pull away from the Golden Bears late, scoring 14 unanswered in the second half. Cair’ron Hendred rushed for 101 yards and two scores, while Ty Gavin added 54 yards and two touchdowns of his own.

Cole Stenstrom showed obvious growth from game one to game two, throwing for an efficient 257 yards on 21/27 attempts. While Sylvere Campbell continues to impress from the receiver room, catching eight balls for 136 yards.

The 1-1 Warriors will get another test on their young season when Wayne State comes to Maxwell field, a team that’s received votes in the top 25 poll. Kickoff Saturday is set for 1:00 p.m.
