(KWNO)-A rash of car break-ins hit Valley Oaks during the overnight hours on Tuesday. Winona Police on Wednesday took reports of eight vehicles being rummaged through. The thief or thieves stole various items including a set of headphones valued at $300, a pocketknife and ratchet straps. A credit card was also taken from one of the vehicles and later used at Walmart in Winona. According to WPD spokesperson all the vehicles were parked on the street and unlocked. There are no suspects, but the spokesperson said investigators are working with Walmart to identify the person who used the stolen credit card. There were no reports of homes or garages being entered and the spokesperson speculated the suspect, or suspects were probably on foot or riding bicycles.
