(KWNO)-A Goodview man was scammed out of more than $4,000. According to a Winona Police spokesperson, the victim got a call at work on Tuesday from someone claiming to be with the Food and Drug Administration. The scammer said the man needed to send money in the form of bitcoin and gift cards. The man gave the scammer $2,000 in bitcoin and $2,170 in gift cards, before realizing he was being scammed. The police spokesperson didn’t know how the scammer convinced the victim to send the money or any other details about the scam.
