(KWNO)-Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris has picked Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to be her running mate. Walz was one of three finalists in the Veep stakes, along with Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and Arizona Senator Mark Kelly. According to media reports the selection of Walz is intended to boost the Democratic ticket in midwestern states.
Walz is a veteran, former teacher and has been governor of Minnesota since 2019. He was also a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 2007-2019, representing Minnesota’s first congressional district. Walz is expected to make his first appearance as the VP nominee at event tonight with Harris in Philadelphia.
