(KWNO)-If you’re still looking for a summer job, jump in the pool with the YMCA. A lifeguard certification course at the Y is July 9 through July 12. This is class focuses on giving participants the knowledge and skills to respond to water emergencies. Attendees will have to swim 150 yards continuously, tread water for two minutes using only their legs, swim 50 yards and complete a timed swim and retrieval event. The minimum age to attend is 15 years old and the cost is $190 for Y members and $205 for non-members. Attending all classes is required and there is online coursework that has to be completed before the in-person class starts.
