(KWMN)- Yesterday’s results saw some area teams move on, and others end their season.

Baseball

#6 Cotter 1-4 #11 Rochester Lourdes

-Cotter baseball sees their season come to an end in the first round of the section tournament. Although their best regular season since 2016, they couldn’t get by Lourdes in round one.

#10 Rushford-Peterson 9-5 #7 Lewiston-Altura

-RP advances to the double-elimination rounds of the section 1A tournament as they got the upset over #7 Lewiston-Altura. They’ll face #2 Lyle-Pacelli on Saturday.

Softball

#1 Winona 3-0 #8 Austin

-Winona advances on to face Kasson-Mantorville in the quarterfinals

#1 Winona vs. #4 Kasson-Mantorville: 3:30 p.m. from Austin Todd Park in Austin, MN — Winner heads to the semifinals in the winner’s bracket.

#5 Cotter vs. #4 Zumbrota-Mazeppa: 4:00 p.m. from the Rochester Softball Complex in Rochester, MN

-Cotter will play at least two games today. A win vs ZM would have them playing in the quarterfinal of the winner’s bracket, a loss would have them playing in the first round of the loser’s bracket.
