(KWNO)-Tuesday night’s storm hit hardest in Rollingstone. A tornado was confirmed by the National Weather Service in the small Winona County community. Homes and outbuildings along Highway 248 sustained damage from wind and downed trees and a barn on the property of John Guenther was leveled.
“A neighbor across (the road), he was out right before it hit, he saw the tornado. The barn is a loss, we lost a lot of trees, a lot of limbs, we’ve got some damage to our house,” said Guenther who has lived on the property for 12 years.
Guenther said Tuesday’s storm is the worst he’s seen in his more than 30 years living in Rollingstone. Guenther said he’s expecting an insurance adjuster to visit his property in the next several days to assess the damage. The City of Rollingstone is asking residents to haul trees and branches to the city compost site or leave them in the city boulevard for city crews to pick up.
