(KWNO)-The Winona County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday evening responded to a report of a man mowing his neighbor’s lawn and knocking down signs on the property. When deputies arrived, they found 57-year-old Daniel Merchlewitz on riding lawn mower. Sobriety tests determined Merchlewitz was drunk and he was cited for DWI. According to a Winona County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, operating a riding lawn mower while intoxicated is the same as operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
