(KWNO)-Scrap your metal and help the Boy Scouts of America. May to September is the 2024 Scrap-A-Thon. Old appliances, car parts or metal scrap can be dropped off at locations in La Crosse and the greater La Crosse area. The metal will be recycled, and the proceeds used to support Gateway Area Scouting, which serves the Coulee region. Metals accepted include aluminum, stainless steel, copper, brass and lead. Items containing Freon like refrigerators and window air conditioners will not be accepted.
