(KWNO)-A Winona man who allegedly stole a moped was arrested Thursday night and is now facing drug charges as well. A patrol officer spotted the moped around 7:00 p.m. and thought it looked like one recently reported stolen. The officer found the moped at the Kwik Trip on South Baker Street and called the person who had reported it stolen. According to a police statement, the person “perfectly” described the moped. The officer talked to a customer who said the person who drove the moped to the Kwik Trip appeared to be trying to sneak out of the store when the police arrived. The suspect was located a block away. He is 22-year-old Jeriah Boardman. Boardman told officers a friend had lent him the moped, but owner confirmed it was the stolen moped. In searching Boardman, officers found more than four grams of cocaine and 1.42 grams of meth in his pants pocket. Boardman is charged with possessing stolen property and drug possession.
