(KWMN)- High school teams continued their seasons on the diamond over the weekend as the weather is slowly becoming more like baseball/softball weather (Just not on Saturday).

Winona

-Winona baseball had the weekend off as they could enjoy their win over Red Wing from Thursday for the full weekend. They’ll return to action Tuesday night as they take on the 5-2 Mankato East Cougars in Winona. Winhawks are looking to improve their 5-1 record–their best start since 2018.

-Winona Softball saw their perfect record come to an end on Thursday and they couldn’t bounce back over the weekend. They were handed their second straight loss vs. Stewartville to the tune of 6-3. They’ll hope to bounce back tomorrow night in Mankato, taking on Kato East. Winona’s two losses before April 22nd is their fastest to two losses since 2021.

Cotter

-Cotter baseball had their way with Fillmore Central on Friday, sweeping the double-header 14-2 and 12-2. They improve to 4-2 on the season, with Rochester Lourdes at home up next on Tuesday night. The Ramblers have seen their best start to a season since 2017.

-Cotter softball also got the best of Fillmore Central on Friday night as they sweep their double-header as well. On Saturday, they watched their perfect record come to an end, as they fall to Two Rivers 13-5. Now sit at 6-1 on the year, with Zumbrota-Mazeppa up next later tonight on the road.

Rushford-Peterson

-The Trojan baseball team had the hard task of facing Caledonia on Friday night, where they fall in both games of the double-header, 8-1 and 11-1. Now sitting at 2-4 on the year, they’ll look to bounce back tomorrow night, back at home vs. Chatfield.

-The RP softball team has struggled to get regular action on the diamond so far this season, which led to a packed couple of days for the Trojans. They lose both to Cal on Friday night, but show a bounce back effort on Saturday, first losing to Goodhue, then beat GMLOK (Grand Meadow) to get their record to 2-4. They’ll take on Chatfield tomorrow as well on the road.
