(KWNO)-A car stolen in Winona more than two months ago has been recovered in New London, WI. According to a police spokesperson the owner of the car is a Winona resident and lent the vehicle to Baldemar Mendez-Lopez on February 14. Mendez was supposed to bring the car right back but never did. The victim did not report the car stolen right away because she was in contact with Mendez who kept saying he would return it. Mendez then cut off communication and the car was reported stolen in March. Mendez is from Appleton, Wisconsin and still at large. Warrants have been issued for his arrest.
