(KWNO)-A Winona man jumped out of a window and ran from police on Thursday night. Officers were called to domestic disturbance in the 350 block of East Sarnia Street around 8:00 p.m. and upon arrival heard a woman screaming for help. According to a police spokesperson 37-year-old Marsean Shines got mad at his girlfriend because she had to go to work and accused her of being unfaithful. Shines then allegedly pushed the woman down and threw plants and furniture at her. The victim tried to go to a neighbor’s and then returned to her own apartment and locked Shines out, but he kicked the door down. Officers were arriving on the scene at that time and that’s when Shines jumped out of the apartment window and fled on foot. Officers caught Shines in the 600 block of Franklin Street. Shines said he ran because he was “scared.” Shines, who had active warrants for domestic abuse and DWI, is charged with felony domestic abuse.
