(KWNO)-The cause of garage fire on Monday morning at a home in 600 block of West 5th Street is under investigation. A Winona Street Department worker, who is also a part-time firefighter, used an extinguisher to keep the fire under control until crews arrived.

Once on the scene, crews put the fire out quickly, according to a post on the Winona Fire Department Facebook page. The fire caused moderate damage to the attached garage and minor damage to the home.
