(KWNO)-A Winona man is in the hospital, and another is charged with trying to kill him after a shooting at a bar in Wisconsin on Saturday. According to the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to George’s Lounge in Buffalo around 2:15 a.m. on Saturday and found a man in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was taken to a Winona hospital with serious injuries.
Investigators identified the alleged shooter as 39-year-old Damien Winn of Winona. He had left the scene but several law enforcement agencies assisted in looking for Winn who was later found around 11:00 a.m. walking near 7th Street and Washington Street in Winona. According to a Winona Police Department spokesperson Winn did not have a gun on him and officers arrested him without incident. Winn is facing charges of First-Degree Attempted Homicide and Probation Violation and is currently in the Winona County Jail. He could be extradited back to Buffalo County today or at a future date. The name of the victim is not being released at this time.
