(KWNO)-Two teenagers joyriding on minibikes allegedly damaged parts of Westfield Golf Course.
On Tuesday morning, staff reported finding “burnout” marks on several holes, possibly caused the night before by a dirt bike. Then on Tuesday night officers responded back to the golf course. According to a statement from Winona Police, two people “wearing all black were driving motorized minibikes all over the course.” Officers saw the two riders near the second hole and turned on their lights and sirens, but the riders took off. Officers pursued the riders along the cart path as the minibikes rode over the greens and several holes. An officer eventually stopped one of the riders near Lenox Street and Monroe Street. The other person was found in the 1700 block of West 5th Street after abandoning his minibike and fleeing on foot.

The alleged riders, a 15-year-old boy and 17-year-old boy, were turned over to their parents. The minibikes were seized by police and charges of fleeing in a motor vehicle and criminal damage to property will be referred to the Winona County Attorney’s Office.
